I remember the day I decided to quit my 9-to-5. To be quite honest, I just couldn't take anymore. The anxiety attacks, the depression, and just the overall unfulfillment professionally left me to make some big decisions. So when I finally took the leap, sans job; it seemed like God answered my prayers when an opportunity came up to work from home.
While I am grateful to work for an amazing company in the comfort of my own home, I've quickly learned that there are things that contribute to a successful home work environment.
Working from home is a dream come true. However, it can come with its challenges. But with a few tweaks, I'm hoping to make the best of this new experience. For those who work from home, what do you love best? What techniques have you implemented to make working from home work for you?
I'll be sure to keep you posted on my office transformation.
With spring just around the corner, it means that most of us ladies are working out and trying to eat right in hopes of getting those summer bodies in shape. Summer bodies are made in the winter...right?
From my experience this most definelty includes BRIDES!
I have a few weddings this summer, two of them destinations, and I too will be preparing myself to not only stand for the couples-to-be in their bridal party, but to also flaunt it on the beach! 😜
I recently went to the National Bridal Show in Toronto with a bride and her maids! We went there with intention of seeing what was on trend for the upcoming wedding season and of course hoping to win free prizes.
We walked through the aisles stopping at each booth to see what they had to offer and what might our bride need as she preps for the wedding and life afterwards.
There were cakes, photographers, accessories, vacations and so much more. We divided and conquered as we were prepared to fill out ballots in hopes to winning prizes. We had pre-printed labels with all the brides information on them so we wouldn't have to write it all out. We just pulled off the sticker and placed it on the card or piece of paper. Talk about efficiency.
We were definelty tired after being on our feet all day, but did enjoy sharing the experience with the bride-to-be. She was not hard to spot amongst the see of women to figure out whether or not she was the bride, as she wore a veil to let you know #IamtheBride 👰🏾
I will say this, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to talk about your plans to each and every vendor.
Most of all enjoy the experience. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but with the right people around you, you can get this things done and have fun! Stay tuned for the wedding experience this summer!
Happy Friday JR!
2017 and your girl is still walking away with amazing finds from my local Value Village.
I always tell people, "Don't go shopping only when you know you need something specific." Check out the stores for sales and unique pieces that will come in handy one day; especially in these winter months when last season's products are marked down heavily.
Recently, I saw this dress and didn't have any real intention for it, but knew that it could be thrown into the rotation somewhere. I didn't know exactly how I would wear it or when, but I knew I would find a way to make it work.
I got home searched through my closet and remembered this white collared shirt with some ruffles down the buttons. I've had for about 6+ years. With the deep V in the front I knew that I would need to put something underneath, especially since I wore this to church. This was an ideal outfit when I found out I had to do welcome at church. Chic and appropriate!!
For all all those who donate to their local consignment stores, keep doing so. "Your trash is someone else's treasure!"
Happy Friday JR!!
Happy New Year! It's been a long time, 🙈I know, but honestly life has really been taking me for a little spin. I've been trying to get it together and I wanted to share where I'm at and where I'm headed.
2016 was a good year. I personally was able to rebuild and restore some relationships, while making memories that will last a lifetime. I started playing volleyball again (My first love in sports). I've been vegetarian for a year! No more chicken wings! 😂 I have found that there are great alternatives, but it also helps that I eat fish, so I guess you could say I'm a pescatarian. With this lifestyle change I have lost weight and feel better. I find that I am not as tired as I've been in the past years.
So what will 2017 look like? Who will be around? What will it feel like?
I personally refuse to indulge in negative energy or space! I am currently focused on positivity, and seeing everyone win. I have realized that even those who claim to stand behind you and support you, may only do so with conditions.
Not sure who will be around this year, but I'm hoping for genuine relationships even if they are just for a season.
I have a few trips planned in the summer and will definitely take all who want to come along for the ride.
So with all the plans in place I'm honing in on "My F.O.C.U.S"
There is no time like the present for me to really be intentional. I am hoping this will be one of the best years yet! I encourage you to find your "Focus" and make 2017 memorable.
