Lowkey, we are kinda obsessed with graphic tees! Honestly what’s not to love about them? They’re cute. Functional. 100% comfortable. And are like a silent billboard for your feelings. For those reasons and more, you will frequently see our Styles by Knight fam rocking these t-shirts. It just makes sense that the graphic tee would be our key piece for our first instalment of Day to Night.
B: When I first saw my shirt in the Hudson’s Bay over a year ago, it screamed my name. I love the saying on it ( who doesn’t want to have a superpower?) and love the minimalism of the black-and-white. To say this shirt gets a lot of wear is an understatement. I decided to pair the shirt with some classic denim mom shorts from the Gap. These shorts are super-comfy and the medium deconstructed shade of denim really goes with anything. Personally I think it’s always good to give an outfit a little edge. I did that by finishing off the outfit with a vintage unisex leather belt from Roots; and a pair of faux-leather studded boots that I got on sale at Zara.
TK: This graphic tee from deeplydopetees had my name written all over it. As a fan of Issa Rae, her unforgettable quote is a conversation starter whenever I go out. For the day look, I went with a distressed black denim mini skirt from Topshop and a pair of fire-engine red Adidas runners. I picked up both items from one of my favourite thrift stores, Plato’s Closet. Since the chill was still in the air, layering with my army fatigue jacket from Ali Express was the perfect choice. To finish the look, I added a thin H&M belt.
B: Taking this shirt from day-to-night is pretty simple. I absolutely ADORE accordion skirts, so my Forever 21 charcoal grey shimmer skirt was my go-to option(similar option here). The awesome thing about this kind of skirt is that it is timeless so its longevity in your wardrobe will be lasting. To give the outfit an extra wow factor, I added some Steve Madden tri-colour, open-toed heels. The snake pattern is on trend for 2020 and provides some additional texture.
TK: What better way to transition a graphic tee into the night then pairing it with tuxedo black. Truly, I think there is nothing more dramatic than being donned in black from head-to-toe. With that in mind I opted to pair my tee with a pair of slim fit Abercrombie denim jeans. The ripped-knee detail can add a bit of sass; and makes the jeans that much more versatile as they can easily be used for a more casual look. In terms of accessories, the Stetson hat (Aldo) and mosaic purse (Plato’s Closet) pushed the outfit to the next level. While I love the black-on-black look, black shoes just look passé in my opinion. I felt a pop of colour would be a dazzling compliment and used red satin Aldo shoes that I picked up in a past thrift haul.
You can easily use these looks as inspiration to create your own fashionable look with your graphic tees. Which look is your favourite? Let us know in the comments.
