The last few months, my skin has been in a man-down situation. It seems that hormonal changes have activated in my-decades-past-pubescent years. My face is paying the highest price. What started out as a few blemishes, now results in adult acne and hyperpigmentation. I can do nothing about it. And I can’t even get dolled up anymore without outrageous flare-ups. So I made a decision to change some things. I tweaked the diet, increased my water intake (ugh!); and changed my makeup.
Over the weekend, I hit up Sephora to find some products that would give me full coverage to hide my blemishes. A lovely cosmetologist named Antria listen to my dilemma. She did a makeup analysis on me called a colour ID, to find the best product match for my skin. She was on point. After narrowing the bevy of cosmetic brands down to a handful she decided on Hourglass Cosmetics.
Her knowledge of the product was impressive. When she finished applying the foundation to my face, you could barely tell that I had any markings at all. I was in awe, but still apprehensive so she gave me a sample and told me to try it over the next few days to make sure my skin responded well to it. I did however buy the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer on her recommendation.
Seeing as I had an event to go to that evening, I decided to give the foundation and primer a whirl. Can we say magic?!?! The primer is lightweight and has a velvety texture to it. I did find I had to blend it a bit longer, than previous primers I’ve used in the past because it’s a white lotion as opposed to a clear gel. Then I applied Hourglass Veil foundation in Walnut on after applying a bit of my own concealer, and BELLISMA! The foundation is fluid and has a hint of translucency; but still covers so well. You could even see my marks. And best of all at the end of the night, I had lots of compliments on my beat face and no skin irritation. WINNING!
I highly recommend Hourglass Cosmetics. They are a little pricier than drugstore varieties, but sometimes you truly get what you pay for.
