I got up this morning in a cold sweat. Heart pounding, mind racing with lists upon lists of things that needed to be done. Content schedules. Christmas Events. Gift Lists. And even that list went on and on and on… My head is spinning and then I pick up my phone and look at the calendar. Tomorrow's December 1st.
Yes the holiday season has started, but truthfully I have 23 days until I have to worry about Christmas (I'm convinced that shopping a few days before Christmas helps fine tune your skills for patience, determination and goodwill towards men--LOL). What I am really worried about is the fact that there is only 31 days until the end of the year. And I haven't even prepared for 2016.
But not to fear, the next 31 days will be spent organizing our life for 2016 to be a breeze.
Some of the things I'll be doing….
1. Purging. There is a reason the New Year is out with the old, in with the new. So as much as I love my stuff, I will be getting rid of the unnecessaries.
2. Forecasting my finances. I hate thinking about money. Yet I have no problem spending it. However, I'm ending 2015 knowing what I'm bringing in and where it's going. Trips, expenses, tuition, I'm looking at it all and making sure that Shii and I are okay in the upcoming year.
3. Dreamcatching. I am a dreamer. I have plans in my head that I'd like to see come to life, but for various reasons they stay on my mental desk in my mind. I am ready to move them to the completed basket, instead of having them loom in the 'to do' file or worst, the wastebasket. To start I am creating a visual dream cloud in my workspace to help me execute better and make some of these dreams become a reality.
4. Letting Go. Is it possible to receive more if you have no room for it? I highly doubt it. So starting tomorrow, I am making a list of the people and experiences that have been taking up residence in my mental space. The bad ones will have to go. After all, nobody wants to bring baggage into the new year, least of all me.
Will you be preparing for your New Year? If so, what are you doing to make sure 2016 is off on the right foot? Leave a comment below with your tips.
Have a great week beauties,
