In July, we took our first SbK vackay to the beautiful island of Jamaica. Now for those who don't know, TK and I are actually cousins (raised more like sisters) and we went to Jamaica for our family reunion.
During our week in paradise, we stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay. The all-inclusive resort had something for everyone and was a blast for the kids. There was never a dull moment as we spent our days coasting down the lazy river in the hotel's watermark or hanging under a palm tree by the beach. And the cuisine was AMAZEBALLS! We loved the fact that there was an array of authentic Jamaican food for us to feast upon (the snapper sandwich at Mangoes was the bomb.com) and there was still plenty of regular North American dishes for the kids to enjoy. A huge kudos to the entertainment staff, who always made sure the main stage was the place to be. The evening shows at theme nights were epic.
We also got a chance to leave the resort and do some other things like visiting Magaritaville. Some of us even took in Reggae Sunsplash, a festival of Jamaican and international music artists. And a quick jaunt over to the White Witch of Rose Hall plantation. While the week went by in a flash, we had the time of our lives enjoying the island, our family and fun-in-the-sun. Jamaica is a definite must on your travel bucket list no matter the occasion.
