Summer Crunch

4/23/2015

So Summer is just around the corner like literally, and I recently made a bet with my #boothang to see who could get in shape/loose the most weight by June 30th. He should be further along than me seeing as I was the one who carried the baby for 9 months and I had a few post baby complications that wouldn't let me shake the weight like I's hoped to. A year post baby is when I finally started to see my stomach going down and feeling more confident in my clothes.

As active as I usually am, playing touch/flag football with both my pregnancies, I absolutely hate going to the gym and working out. As I get up there in age I see that it is much more difficult to shed extra pounds, unlike when I was a spring chicken in my 20's. Many people tell me that 60% of the weight loss journey is what you eat and the rest exercise. My favourite drink is water, I'm not a huge eater and I have fairly good self control, but for some reason I just can't seem to drop the extra pounds like I'd hoped.

Well.... I finally decided to do something about it. I joined a fitness bootcamp for a month. Because I'm a diva on a dime, I got a great deal using groupon with an additional 30% off. If that's not wining I don't know what is   I attended my first class this week and I am totally feeling it. My legs are sore, my back is aching and everything in me wants to just go home after work and sleep. LOL I won't give up I promise. I have packed my bag and it is in my car ready for the next class.

When I arrived at the first class I started out strong. I honestly was not trying to keep up with anyone else. I was just trying to make it through to the end. After the push-ups, sit-ups, burpees, jumping jacks and planks, I felt like I wasn't going to make it. I set a goal for my self that by the end of the week I want to be able to hold a plank for 30seconds, not quite the expectation of 1 min, but baby steps.

Honestly, even though I want to win the bet, I ultimately want to feel like the best mom and wife. I not only want to look good for my husband, I want that summer body for me. Even though people have said it's too late to get my body ready for summer, I say it's never too late. Every little bit counts. I'm taking it one day at a time one crunch at a time.

Let me know what you're doing to get your body back after baby or just even what you do to maintain your "best" self. I would love to hear what people are doing so I can see what may work for me.

Stay tuned for my progress report.
