So the review is in.
I had an absolutely amazing time in Trinidad. I think my baby girl had an even better time than I did. Since I was able to check 2 bags at the airport I was able to grab my Starbucks and stroll with my little lady and her dolly.
My 5 hour flight was long but I was greeted by 30 degree weather and some island KFC. The island was filled with visitors from all over the world to experience "the greatest carnival on earth" the city was filled with soca music playing none stop and people "chippin" down the road.
Most people were looking forward to the 2 day parade dressed in their costumes with their bands along side them as people gathered at the savannah to witness it all.
While Trinidad was busy with all the festivities, Tobago had a more serene relaxing feel. A beautiful place to enjoy the water and sand. Tobago was exceptionally clean and was exactly what I needed during this crazy winter we've been experiencing. I was able to taste bake and shark, but didn't buy it from the infamous Maracas beach, so unfortunately it was a total let down. I will say the doubles were a definite hit. I waited in a long line to make sure I got some.
Travelling with my baby girl alone , without my boothang (husband) and oldest daughter were truly missed. I will say this, if you haven't experienced Trinidad's carnival, you should at least once. The culture and vibe of the people was amazing and I can't wait to go back.
Thank you Trinidad for a great winter getaway.
